Is Anyone Writing Articles About Your Business?
Contributed articles and custom publications are a great way to tell the story of your business and the people behind it. For many years, I was the senior writer and editor of the corporate magazines of The BC Bearing Group for KLJ Publications, and later, Canada Wide Media. The company, now Motion Industries, is a distributor of bearing and power transmission products.
Three times a year, we produced US and Canadian editions of a full-colour glossy magazine. It was part trade journal, part general interest magazine and part newsletter for the company’s more than 50 branch locations in North America.
Understanding Your Market
The readership included the many customers and suppliers of BC Bearing and sister company US Bearings & Drives. Every issue placed a strong emphasis on highlighting the company’s clients in a diverse array of business sectors from manufacturing, construction and traditional resource industries to transportation, technology and green energy.
In recent years, I’ve been contributing articles to Innovation, the magazine of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. I’ve also written dozens of video scripts profiling the winners of APEGBC’s annual awards.
Creating Great Content by Interviewing Your Experts
It’s quite a privilege to interview and write about some of the world’s great minds who provide solutions to everything from increased energy efficiency, environmental remediation and emergency disaster response to building transportation infrastructure, creating medical diagnostic tools and improving water management systems.
As a writer, it’s truly gratifying to be able to turn the complexities of their work into entertaining and informative stories that appeal to the general public. I’d also be happy to help you harness the power of storytelling by spreading the word about your company. I can help you make the business case for your value proposition, so give me a call at 604.349.3395 or email [email protected] and let’s create compelling content.
